Job description

The Company

At VertiGIS, we build powerful GIS software. Our portfolio of products, solutions, and services enhance the capabilities of leading mapping software, most notably Esri’s ArcGIS. For decades, professionals have relied upon us to overcome complex technical challenges so that they can make a significant impact in the world.

VertiGIS offers meaningful careers that grow with you over time, encourage you to think creatively, and connect you with customers who are making a difference in the world. We are passionate, high-performing individuals that come from a diverse set of educational, cultural, and professional backgrounds. What we all have in common is our drive to do good work, support each other as we grow, and enjoy the beautiful places where we live.

The Position

Do you have a strong technology background with the ability to translate that into business value? Are you people-focused and passionate about outreach and engagement with prospects, customers, and partners? Are you a problem solver and solution visionary? Are you a leader, mentor, and change agent?

This position provides the opportunity to support global business development of the VertiGIS solutions portfolio by defining and bringing to life solutions that demonstrate our business value. You’ll support one-to-one and one-to-many interactions, promoting and advising on the value of VertiGIS products and services — over the phone, in the boardroom, and on the big stage! Fundamental to this role is the ability to build applications that show how our technology solves real world problems — starting with the business problem through to the technology solution.

If this sounds like a fit, we’d love to hear from you!

*We are willing to support a remote employee with preference in Los Angeles, Denver, Atlanta, or Chicago.*

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical and product expertise to our sales team, prospective customers, and partners during the sales process

  • Create and showcase product demonstration solutions for prospective customers and partners

  • Develop and maintain an enterprise level demonstration environment that includes our software solutions suite and Esri technologies

  • Coordinate the resolution of technical/product issues that arise during the sales process

  • Work with customers and partners to maximize the benefits of our technology

  • Translate prospect business requirements into architecture and design specifications that align with VertiGIS and Esri’s implementation strategies

  • Define and craft proof of concept applications based on prospective customer business requirements

  • Support and deliver presentations, training, and workshops at marketing events

  • Work closely with sales and marketing to define and develop internal and external product solution marketing resources

  • Work closely with the products team to identify and position key capabilities with internal and external stakeholders

  • Develop in-depth technical knowledge of our products and their value proposition

  • Educate sales and partner teams on the business value of our products and GIS enabled architecture and solutions

Job requirements

  • 3+ years experience in a similar or related role

  • Experience/aptitude for Product Management, Product Marketing, Technical Presales, or Solutions Engineering with a software company

  • Experience working with various key stakeholders throughout an organization including Sales, Marketing, Product Development, and Professional Services

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Proven ability to present information well to various audiences

  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail

  • Business analysis or solution architecture experience

  • Understanding of geography, GIS, and Esri technology

  • Knowledge of the utilities industry would be an asset

  • Diploma or degree in computer science, engineering, geography, geomatics, business administration, or related discipline would be an asset

  • This position may require travel (primarily in the US).
